Hells Canyon and Zumwalt Prairie

June 18-20, 2016
On Father's Day we drove through Zumwalt Prairie and the northern
part of my new forest, which includes the deepest canyon in the
country, Hells Canyon. We saw tons of wildflowers, raptors, deer, quail,
turkey, 2 fire lookouts, and very few people. We stayed at a quaint
cabin at Fields Spring State Park for 2 nights. I am amazed that you
don't have to get reservations too far in advance up here... Plenty of
cabins and campsites to serve the rural populace :)
There is only one cabin here so you have
plenty of privacy
