Weekend at Harris Park

July 1-4, 2016
We went camping for 3 nights with our neighbors Holly and
Alexander at Harris Park over the 4th of July weekend.
This lovely little campground is on the Walla Walla River only
about one hour from our house. We caught ladybugs, rode
bikes, hiked up the river, made s'mores, ate wild berries,
read books, and had a nice relaxing weekend.
It was a good thing I'd recently bought a bug
catching kit at the dollar store :)
There were several fly fishermen along the river
I have never seen so many ladybugs flying around!
Our campsite always had some shade

There were lots of blackberries and
thimbleberries to find and eat, yum!
It was supposed to take only 20 minutes to put
together the new BBQ - wrong! It took an hour :p
Holly, T and I hiked 2.5 miles up the Walla Walla River Trail
We made it home in time to watch fireworks :)
one of my favorite birds, American Dipper or Water Ouzel

The fireworks weren't the only show, they
sparked a bunch of small grass fires, but the fire
department was quick to put them out
Covering Mommy's ears, lol
