| Kidlet and I were brave and backpacked overnight by ourselves in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness! It takes a while to get to the Tamarack Trailhead off a very bumpy steep road. We saw very few people and lots of wildlife! A deer kept us company in our campsite all night long. We named him Lucky Charm :) Saw a mama black bear and two cubs driving out. I've never heard or seen so many small birds in my whole life as in this wilderness. Thankfully encountered very few mosquitos and instead were greated with tons of wildflowers. Camped about 3 miles in at Eiler Lake. Very peaceful and pretty place! |
